Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, and being raised in the beautiful yet rough and textured neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant, Melvina garnered the flair, talent, and keen eye for detail which is reflected in her jewelry. Prior to starting her jewelry line, this risk-taker was a frequent connoisseur of handmade jewelry, that is how she identified the gap in the market.
About The Company
The journey to establishing Jewelry Jazz by Melvina wasn’t a swift one. There were so many hurdles to overcome to include self-doubt, fear, and procrastination, etc. And of course like many other women Melvina also juggled marriage, family, work, and ministry. Just as for a lot of other people, the pandemic birthed the need for a re-evaluation of self by Melvina. Lists of passions to desist pursuing were made and naturally, jewelry making fell on this list. However, after a lot of self-reflection and vivid dreams about jewelry making, it became clear that Jewelry Jazz by Melvina was worthy of pursuit. Ironically, the COVID-19 pandemic was instrumental in bringing JJBM into fruition. The company launched on July 26, 2021, and it’s been an honor to add pizzazz to your everyday ensemble.
